‘Asia-Europe I – Small size works’

After the succesfull first edition of ‘Asia-Europe’, a new initiative was born by organising the exhibition ‘Small size works’ - Fiber Art from Asia and Europe (2012), with the same vision on Fiber Arts, held in the Janina Monkute-Marks Museum in Kedainiai (Lithuania). The 50x50x50 cm dimensions are more common in Asian countries and rarely used in a European exhibition.

This international exhibition has great significance. 147 works by 90 artists from 22 countries: Switzerland, The Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Ireland, Norway, Belgium,  Luxembourg, France, Hungary, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Estonia, England, Romania, Japan, Indonezia, Korea, Malaysia.

Asia-Europe5 have been open 2 months in Kouvola Art Museum Poikilo, Finland. Still a bit more than a month to visit the exhibition that has been said "interesting", "wau", "deep with meanings", "surprising"... 30. Asia-Europe 5 opens in Poikilo Museum , Kouvola, Finland 29. Sept, 2021 at 18-20. This exhibition presents works by 36 artists with backgrounds in Asian and European countries. AE5 is a continuation of series of exhibitions started by Erny Piret and will tour in 4 European countries until 2023. The exhibition is curated by Marika Szaraz and Raija Jokinen. Selected works of art have been made with materials and techniques connected to textile tradition but the perspective is updated and fresh basing to personal research and innovations.
